Van Delft is the market leader in the Netherlands with a wide range of (chocolate) peppernuts, speculaas and taai-taai, and is a specialist and cost leader in fruit cookies and fruit bars, chocolate cookies and glacé cookies. Mostly under the private label of major retailers. Customers are for example Albert Heijn, Aldi, Lidl, Jumbo, Plus, Dirk, Hema, Kruidvat but also foreign supermarket chains in almost all European countries. Van Delft focuses on top quality, low prices and growth in these product categories through intensive cooperation with these retailers and by investing heavily in automation and people and by working together on continuous improvement.

The luxury brand

In addition, Van Delft is working hard on its own luxury brand Van Delft. Known for its luxury peppernut stores, Van Delft strives to be the specialist in luxury chocolate peppernuts and cookies and strives to be the address for fun luxury and especially very tasty gifts with chocolate peppernuts and cookies. Every year about 20 luxury stores are opened from September 1 until the end of the year. Meanwhile, work is underway on new style stores open all year round. With a special Easter egg, Christmas cookies and summer assortment. In addition, work is underway on stores and introducing the brand abroad such as Spain, Denmark, England and Belgium. Van Delft Peppernuts worldwide is the goal!

About Van Delft

History

In 1880, Jan van Delft took over a bakery in Koog aan de Zaan that dated back to 1834. By specializing more in breakfast cookies, taai-taai and peppernuts the bakery grew. In 1894 Jan van Delft took over factory de Vlijt and Van Delft was able to continue to grow industrially. Van Delft was one of the first bakers in the early 20th century with a conveyor belt oven for the production of peppernuts. The new industrially formed much spicier and crispier baked seasoned peppernuts became a great success and Van Delft was able to supply all of the Netherlands with peppernuts . Due to growth, a new central location had to be sought. In 1958, the bakery moved to its current location in Harderwijk. Van Delft continued to invest and innovate. In the 1990s Van Delft was the first to start with chocolate peppernuts and around 2005 Van Delft started with all kinds of innovative new flavors of chocolate peppernuts. "Growth through innovation is the common thread in our strategy" says ir Oscar de Lange, director and owner.

Family de Lange

In the early 1990s, family de Lange bought Van Delft out of the chocolate concern de Baronie. Oscar, having just finished his studies in technical business administration at the University and a 2-year leadership position in the Special Forces, and brother Pierre ran the factory from that time and from 2005 Oscar has been at the helm alone. In the following 20 years, Oscar took Van Delft Biscuits from a company with 15 employees and 3 million euros in sales to a growing company with 300 employees and 75 million euros in sales.
